Return From Thanksgiving Weekend

November 20, 2020
Curtis N. Powell, Vice President, Human Resources

The last day of in-person academic instruction for the fall semester is Friday, November 20, 2020, and the campus is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday from Thursday, November 26 through Sunday, November 29, 2020, with the exception of faculty and staff who are designated as “Essential” by their Portfolio Owner.

I know that it will be a challenge for families to come together this year for Thanksgiving due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, technology is a safe option to connect with family and friends.

As faculty and staff return to campus following the Thanksgiving holiday, the Institute will require participation in the COVID-19 testing program during the week of November 30 through December 4, 2020, which is consistent with T3SQ(I) protocols and guidance from New York State.

All faculty and staff who are returning to campus on a regular or intermittent basis after the Thanksgiving holiday must be tested on both Monday, November 30 and Friday, December 4. All faculty and staff scheduled to work on Monday, November 30, will work remotely, with the exception of coming to campus to receive their scheduled COVID-19 test.

Unless the Division of Human Resources contacts you and instructs you otherwise, faculty and staff tested on Monday, November 30, are cleared to return to campus beginning Tuesday, December 1.

Testing appointments are available between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on both Monday, November 30 and Friday, December 4. Faculty and staff must schedule their test times by logging into the Daily Interactions & Activities Log (DIAL) and clicking the “Post-Thanksgiving Test Schedule” button. This feature will be available for scheduling beginning on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

All COVID-19 testing will be conducted at the Alumni Sports and Recreation Center (AS&RC), also known as the Armory. Please use the back entrance to the Armory closest to Freshman Hill. The AS&RC is located on the east side of the 15th Street footbridge directly across from the Public Safety building.

If you have any questions, please contact Larry Hardy, director of employee relations and professional development, by email or by telephone at (518) 276-3065.

Thanks for your vigilance in keeping all members of our community safe.
