COVID-19 Testing Update

August 28, 2020
Leslie Lawrence, M.D., Executive Director for Health and Wellness

I am writing to provide you with a coronavirus testing update. As of today, we have tested over 4,200 members of the Rensselaer community for COVID-19. There have been two confirmed positive results. Both individuals who tested positive are students who live in off-campus housing. The students are in isolation and the housemates are in quarantine. Per our protocol, the Rensselaer County Health Department has been notified.

The Rensselaer community has been cooperative and compliant. We appreciate everyone continuing to take all recommended precautionary measures and using good judgment. It is important that we continue to act responsibly, individually and collectively, in order to protect the entire Rensselaer community.

Please refer to the COVID-19 website for updates and details on our Return to Campus-Based Operations plan. As information becomes available, we will keep the campus community updated.
